Upon leaving the Navy in 1994 joined an electrical company in Colorado earning a journeyman electrical and then a master electrician and electrical contracting license.

From 1990-1994 stationed on board the USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) as an electrician during the gulf war and on station during the Black Hawk down incident
